Saratoga County resident Michael T. Maralett, of Greenfield, was charged with grand larceny and traffic violation on Thursday, Feb. 1, said Trooper Stepanie O'Neil of the New York State Police.

According to O'Neil, on Thursday, Jan. 25, State Police received a complaint from a Saratoga County resident. The investigation determined the victim allegedly met with Marlett, the owner and operator of ATQ Contracting LLC., in Dec. 2023. The victim agreed to hire Marlett to complete a remodeling project of a Ballston home and provided him more than $10,000 as a deposit.

Marlett reportedly failed to start the work per the contracted agreement and also failed to return the victim’s deposit, resulting in the theft of the money, O'Neil said.

He was arrested, arraigned, and released on his own recognizance.
